I was finishing this piece about the time my friend George passed on. I hope it was just coincidental that He was an orange tom cat. Often, he would sit there as I painted and watch, (or doze), often I'd wake in the morning to find his paw just touching my hand. I miss him. The piece is a Fish Hook Barrel Cactus in bloom. When the spring rains and the summer heat, meet, color and beauty that only lasts for a few days but is magnificent.
E.Samuelson, Eric to his friends, has been painting all his life and seriously since 1980. Seventeen of those years were in Hawaii. Many of his paintings reflect his love for the Islands. He now resides in Scottsdale, Arizona Where he is looking for a gallery. He is enjoying painting the incredible landscapes, cactus and flowers found here. His paintings have sold world wide and been in a number of galleries on Maui including MAUI HANDS in the Hilton hotel in Kaanapali, on Hana Highway in Paia, and on Front St. in Lahaina.
